No. 1 — Sling TV Blue package ($40/month, plus the $11/month to add the “Sports Extra” package that includes NFL RedZone and more)

Sling makes the list as the No. 1 option for sports fans in the Pacific Northwest because it is the cheapest way to watch the NFL RedZone channel and other more live sports, though they have two plans that split up the major sports channels that can be hard on any fan that needs access to all of them. NFL RedZone is only included in the Sports Extra package when purchased alongside the “Blue” plan, which is a $11 add on. If you get select the “Orange” plan, Pac-12 Network is not included in the Sports Extra add on. To get the best value that includes NFL RedZone, get the Sling Blue + Sports Extra package for $51/month (with the promotional offer, your first month will only cost $31 total). There are no long-term contracts and you can cancel the service any time. The stream quality and reliability is solid. You can also supplement your Sling plan with an over-the-air HDTV antenna for your TV that will give you full NFL games being broadcast locally in your area from CBS, FOX and NBC.

No. 2 — Fubo (free trial, then $85.98/month, plus the $11/month additional “Sports Plus” package to add NFL RedZone)

Not only does Fubo have NFL RedZone as an option, they carry most of the channels that would feature nationally televised NFL football games (like FOX, NBC, and CBS as well as local ABC affiliates and ESPN networks). The only major sports channels they don’t have at the moment are Turner affiliates like TNT, TBS and others. While the total monthly cost comes to $96.98/month for the package that includes NFL RedZone, Fubo allows you to have at least two concurrent viewers. This means you can buy the service and share your login with a friend or family member to share the monthly cost and really save some money.

Another huge selling point for Fubo as it relates to cord-cutting sports fans in the Pacific Northwest is that Fubo also has ROOT Sports as a part of its list of main package channel offerings if you live in the region, and they carry Pac-12 Network as another add-on option. ROOT Sports is the broadcast partner for the Portland Trail Blazers and carries the vast majority of the team’s games. ROOT also airs the vast majority of Seattle Kraken and Seattle Mariners games. If you are a sports fan between Seattle and Portland, there really is no better option for a cord-cutting service.

No. 3 — DirecTV Stream (free trial, then $74.99/month, plus the $15/month additional “Sports Pack” to add NFL RedZone)

The downside of DirecTV Stream is that it does not have any plans that include Pac-12 Network, but also, the price point to watch NFL RedZone here is still more expensive that Fubo or Sling each month and you won’t get a lot of the other sports channels you might need for even close to the same price as the above services. However, it does have ROOT Sports available with the “Choice” package, so that’s at least an option if Sling or Fubo doesn’t work for you.

Honorable mention: YouTube TV and Hulu + Live are also good options for streaming sports overall, and both feature plans that include NFL RedZone. However, they are not the best options for fans in the Pacific Northwest sports fans as neither of those services carry Pac-12 Network or ROOT Sports, both of which carry most local broadcasts for the regions pro sports and college teams.

If you don’t already have one, another way to watch a few games for free this season — including every Sunday Night Football game — is by purchasing an HD antennae. An HD antennae will get you those Sunday night games and will also get you any games being broadcast on Sunday in your local market on both the local CBS and FOX channels.
