Lizzy Acker is a reporter on the life and culture team and the author of the advice column, "Why Tho?" She covers everything from ice cream to Oregon's legal psilocybin program to car-less travel. She joined The Oregonian/OregonLive in 2016 as a member of the trending news team. Previously, she worked for Willamette Week where she covered culture and wrote the column "Lady Things," and KQED where she wrote for the KQED Arts blog and was co-creator, editor and writer for pop culture blog "KQED Pop." She began her journalism career in high school as a writer for the Corvallis Gazette-Times' teen page, "Hardly Minor." Her book of short stories, "Monster Party," was published in 2010.
