Water levels had receded enough Wednesday morning to allow traffic through U.S. 101 between Seaside and the junction with U.S. 26, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Heavy rain will continue at times through Wednesday and ODOT warns travelers to be prepared for closed lanes, flaggers and some local detours. Oregon 6 is still closed due to high water near its intersection with U.S. 101 in Tillamook. A detour is in place for that closure.
Other coastal areas reporting high water early Wednesday include:
- Oregon 53 at milepost 14.5
- U.S. 101 at milepost 97.8 about a mile south of Neskowin
- Oregon 153, 2 miles east of intersection with Salmon River Highway (Oregon 18) from mileposts 2-4 in Amity
- Sections of U.S. 101 near Waldport
- OR 229 at milepost 9, south of the intersection with U.S. 101 is closed in both directions
