A pedestrian died early Saturday after a hit-and-run crash in Vancouver, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office reported overnight.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was involved in a collision with a vehicle on Northeast Highway 99 near the intersection with Northeast 82nd Street, according to a news release. Witnesses said the vehicle fled immediately after the collision, which was reported around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.
The pedestrian died at the scene. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is investigating and says it appears the pedestrian might have tried to cross the highway in a lowly lit area with no crosswalk.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Bethany Lau at bethany.lau@clark.wa.gov.
