Monday’s homicide in Oregon City stemmed from domestic violence, police said Tuesday.

Anthony Wessel, 41, turned himself in to Oregon City police just before 1 p.m. Monday and said he shot his wife, Anna Wessel, 37.

Officers went to the 13400 block of Squire Drive and found the woman dead inside the couple’s home. No one else was there, they said.

Police arrested Anthony Wessel, and he was booked into Clackamas County Jail on allegations of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, police said.

An investigation continues, and police ask anyone with information about the case to call the Oregon City Police tip line at 503-905-3505.

Family of Anna Wessel created a GoFundMe site to support her four children.
