Friday will bring a mostly dry day to the Portland/Vancouver area and none too soon.

The National Weather Service says scattered showers will linger into the early afternoon as the air mass stabilizes over the region. By the afternoon, most area will see a mix of sunshine and clouds. Portland will see a high temp near 47 degrees. If you have things to do outdoors, Friday will be your day.

The Cascades will continue to see accumulating snow through the morning hours, but should also see showers taper off by the afternoon.

The next front looks to arrive on Saturday. The coast will see rain just after daybreak, and metro area will likely see rain begin in the early afternoon. Much of this rain will fall in the Portland/Vancouver area and points northward. It’s possible locations from Salem southward don’t see much rain at all Saturday, and any that does fall will arrive later in the afternoon or early evening.

Portland will see clouds all day and about a quarter of an inch of precipitation. The high will be a chilly 46 degrees.

Rain will continue overnight and into Sunday. Portland will have a wet day to end the weekend and winds will be gusty at times. The high will warm to about 52 degrees.

Extended forecasts show showers coming to an end on Monday. High pressure is expected to build into the region extending dry weather into Tuesday.
