The city of Portland is poised to pay $100,000 to settle a federal wrongful death lawsuit in the fatal police shooting of Koben Henriksen in Southeast Portland in 2019.

Henriksen’s family alleged police failed to de-escalate the encounter when they shot the 51-year-old homeless man who was in mental distress, waving knives at passing cars near Mall 205 on Dec. 8, 2019.
