High school cross country running stars from across America at the peak of their training descended on the Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland Saturday for the Nike Cross Nationals Meet. They were greeted by an atmospheric river of rain that turned the grass course into a muddy marsh.
Nike hosted regional meets around the United States this past month, and the best qualifying teams and best individual qualifying runners from the eight regions received invitations to Portland.
