A driver fatally struck a pedestrian in Salem and another driver seriously wounded a second pedestrian in Portland over the weekend, police say.

Authorities have also identified a cyclist who was fatally struck in Sherwood last month.

In Portland, a man walking on Interstate 5 near the Moda Center was struck by a southbound driver around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a police spokesperson. The pedestrian’s injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Police didn’t identify either the pedestrian or the motorist who remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, officers said.

In Salem, police say Justin Rodriguez, 35, was driving a northbound delivery van when he fatally struck Kiristian Murauo as the 23-year-old attempted to cross Cordon Road just south of the Highway 22 overpass about 7:50 p.m. Saturday. Police said there is no lawful crosswalk in the area.

Police said Rodriguez cooperated with investigators and was not cited or arrested.

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies have also identified 78-year-old Dana Deardorff as the cyclist killed while biking on Southwest Roy Rogers Road around noon on Nov. 20 just north of Scholls Ferry Road.

Deputies say the driver of the 2013 Mazda MZ5, 47-year-old Emily Page, was traveling southbound when Deardorf “veered” across the travel lanes. Deardorf was a ride leader and member of the Portland Velo Cycling Club, according to Bike Portland.

Authorities said they don’t believe Page was intoxicated and said she’s cooperating with the investigation, but said they’re seeking dash camera footage of the crash.

Anyone with information in the case can contact the sheriff’s office at 503-629-0111 and reference case number 50-23-17393.
