The Portland Trail Blazers have elevated guard Anfernee Simons to questionable for Wednesday night’s game at the Golden State Warriors.
Meanwhile, Jerami Grant (concussion protocol) is out and center Deandre Ayton (right knee soreness) is doubtful.
Unfortunately for the Blazers, it appears that whenever they get someone back off the injury list, someone else leaves the lineup.
The likely return of Simons (right thumb ligament surgery) at the Warriors should be a huge boost to the team’s offense, which has been better lately but still ranks last in the NBA in offensive rating (105.4).
Although Simons, who has been out since the first game of the season, is listed as questionable, for the Blazers that usually means a player is about to return. Scoot Henderson and Malcolm Brogdon both missed several games this season due to injuries before being listed as “questionable” the day prior to their return to the court.
Blazers coach Chauncey Billups said Monday that he hoped to have Simons back this week, preferably Wednesday against the Warriors.
