Police have arrested an 18-year-old man accused of killing Justin Sartin, 25, in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood early on Nov. 15.

Sartin was shot inside Bar 122nd, according to witnesses. He appeared to be there with a small group of close friends, the witnesses said.

Malacai Gant was arrested Wednesday and faces allegations of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Police have released no details to explain Gant’s relationship to Sartin or what led to the shooting.

Sartin’s memorial service was held Saturday.

His aunt wrote in a GoFundMe page for memorial and funeral expenses that her nephew was “an innocent victim of gun violence”

“We all share in this senseless heartbreak as we await justice for Justin and all victims of violence,” Joyl Sartin wrote.

Gant also faces nine felony and three misdemeanor charges alleging he and friends stole multiple KIA cars in October, court records show.
